Inform yourself & seek advice - but decide for yourself
Anyone who wants to study has a lot of questions: What is the right degree programme for me? Where can I study what? What requirements do I have to fulfil? How do I apply?
But sometimes our students also need support with the organisation of their studies, they have detailed questions or there are problems and crisis situations. Especially when their studies are not running smoothly, they need trustworthy listeners and qualified advisors.
-
We provide competent and objective, individual and confidential advice free of charge throughout the entire student life cycle: from choosing a course of study to graduation.
-
The team offers - according to the target groups - study-related information in different formats. We have a large network and provide helpful contacts in special situations or emergencies.
-
At our information days and events, as well as during the introductory phase of studies, we offer orientation and provide information on all questions related to higher education. But we are also present at career and study fairs as close advisors.
-
On request, we are also available to school counselling teachers with an information stand and/or a lecture on study and career orientation.
Our trained, experienced and conscientious advisors take all questions and concerns seriously. They help to initiate decision-making processes and find solutions. The counselling process is transparent and comprehensible. Our counsellors undergo continuous training, because: We want to do justice to all concerns! Counselling takes place fact-to-face, by email, by telephone and online. Please make an appointment in advance.

Personal Advice
Many questions can be clarified quickly and easily in a personal conversation. In general, but especially for detailed discussions or if you have to travel further, it is advisable to make an appointment. This is also possible outside opening hours. Please call or email to make an appointment.
-
Telephone Consultation
We are also happy to advise you by telephone or e-mail.
-
Subject Advisory Service
The subject advisors of the respective degree programmes can answer questions about the course of studies or the contents of the individual degree programmes that are strongly related to the subject. To contact them directly, you can find the contact details for the respective degree programme or on the subject advisory service page. If necessary, those seeking advice will be referred by the General Subject Advisory Service.
-
Information Events
The staff of the General Student Advisory Service provide information and advice on study information days and at information events at German Technical Secondary Schools, grammar schools and other secondary schools as well as at career and study fairs. We are also available as contact persons for counselling teachers and for internal school presentations on study and career orientation.
-
Psychosocial Counselling
Stressful situations can have a negative impact on motivation and concentration and make studying a challenge. This also applies to problems that are not directly related to studying. If psychological counselling or help is needed, we can put you in touch with competent contact persons. The University of Applied Sciences cooperates with counselling centres that provide quick and unbureaucratic help in crisis situations.
Psychological Counselling Centre Triesdorf
At the Triesdorf Campus, students can turn to the psychological counselling centre of the Erlangen-Nuremberg Student Union if they have problems. Personal consultations take place on site, by phone or via video conference.
It is best to make an appointment with the graduate psychologist Kristin Fues by email. Open consultation hours are held on Wednesdays from 11:00 to 12:00 in Room A.215. Registration is not necessary.
Office hours: Wednesdays 08:00 - 12:30 and 13:00 - 16:30, available by phone 12:00 to 12:30(+49 9826 654-137).
