Tips on finding accommodation for Exchange students & Freemovers
-
Weihenstephan Campus
If you are going to study temporarily in Freising at the Weihenstephan Campus, you can apply for a room in one of the student halls of residence of the Studierendenwerk München Oberbayern in Freising via the International Office of the HSWT. If the demand exceeds the supply, the rooms will be drawn by lot among all applicants.
These are usually furnished single rooms in shared flats (WGs) in which the bathroom and kitchen are shared with other students. As part of a "service package", you will receive a sleeping bag, a pillow with a cover and a bed sheet when you move in. The rent for a room in a shared flat is between 250 € and 350 € per month (incl. utilities).
Approximately 8 to 10 weeks before the start of the semester, we will let you know whether you will receive a room in the hall of residence. The Studierendenwerk will then send you a room offer, which you must accept within a few days. The first three months' rent and a rent deposit must be paid in advance. You will receive further information on room reservations directly from the Studierendenwerk when you receive your room offer.
If you are not moving into a Studierendenwerk hall of residence, you can find tips on finding accommodation in Freising and the surrounding area here.

Triesdorf Campus
If you are studying at the Triesdorf Campus, the International Office in Triesdorf will help you find a room. In Weidenbach, where the Triesdorf Campus is located, there is no hall of residence, but there are other solutions for students to find affordable accommodation.
