Transfer at the HSWT
We can only meet society's immense challenges, such as sustainability, climate change, world nutrition and biodiversity, together and in exchange with one another. Conveying these global core issues and the resulting societal-technological transformation in a transparent, comprehensible and scientifically sound manner thus is a central concern of the University of applied sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf.

Our understanding of transfer
The core element of the HSWT's transfer understanding is the involvement of the population, politics and business - in short, society - in a multidirectional process. Integrated into a dynamic and diverse network, the HSWT takes up their open questions and communicates innovative solutions as well as new technologies for implementation in daily practice.
The HSWT handles transfers based on the following principles:
- Overcoming professional boundaries in problem definition and solution finding through transdisciplinary approaches involving partners from the entire breadth of society - regionally and globally.
- Inclusion of the entire innovation process - from the idea to the product - in the transfer of ideas, knowledge and technology.
- Openness towards all stakeholders, especially concerning the inclusion of civil society and its heterogeneous perspectives.
In this context, the HSWT needs to develop synergies between teaching, research, further education and transfer. Here, it is already possible to build on a plurality of successful initiatives that involve society in the activities of the University of applied sciences.
The organisational framework for the strategic development of transfer at the University of applied sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf is provided by the transfer strategy, which goes into more detail on principles and fields of action.
