International HSWT advanced training: Breeding & keeping poultry
Animal welfare, sustainability and yield: Poultry farming and marketing are characterised by the conflicting demands of different factors. The continuing education programme at the HSWT provides interested parties with a deep insight into theory and practice - from breeding and rearing to slaughtering and marketing. The aim of the course is to provide participants from all over the world with a comprehensive qualification in efficient and sustainable poultry farming, which is why teaching material is also offered in other languages in addition to German and English.
Course content of the seminar on keeping and rearing poultry
The course at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences provides comprehensive knowledge of poultry farming. Participants learn how to select the right poultry breed and create the right housing conditions. Nutritional principles and feeding strategies are covered, as well as recognising and treating diseases, but also prevention topics such as vaccination plans and ecological sustainability.
The theoretical content is deepened by visits to poultry farms, where care and breeding techniques as well as hygiene and health measures are demonstrated in practice. The course also covers economic aspects and the marketing of poultry products.
Focus & topics Poultry breeding, husbandry & management
Over the course of five seminar days, participants learn how economically and ecologically sustainable poultry farming works. The course consists of theoretical and practical teaching units with different focal points. Other topics can be covered on request.

Course fees of €100 per person per day apply for five training days.
