Lucas Huhne

Lucas studied Agricultural Engineering at the Triesdorf campus.

His bachelor's thesis already focussed on the milking robot in the university barn.

In his current job, he is able to combine his passion for Agriculture and his interest in Agricultural Engineering: Lucas is a Technical Service Support Specialist at Lely Deutschland GmbH - a leading provider of innovative products and services for the dairy farming industry.

As a technical contact in the field of milking robots, Lucas is also responsible for the relevant training courses. He is also responsible for product development and the market launch of new products.

He even spends around a third of his working time in the field - at the customer's premises or directly in the barn.

"In the Milking & Cooling team, we are the technical contact for our service technicians in the field of milking robots. In addition to clarifying technical issues, we develop training courses and conduct them in our own training centre. But we are also responsible for supporting product development and the market launch of new products. For example, I personally work intensively on cow tracking and, together with the service technicians, ensure correct installation and commissioning so that our customers can find every single animal in the herd as quickly and easily as possible.

The great practical relevance with the opportunity to specialise individually in one area through projects and internships or to get to know many areas creates ideal conditions for starting a career. The Agricultural Engineering degree programme not only teaches you about outdoor machinery, but also allows you to get to grips with a wide range of animal husbandry systems and techniques in the experimental and educational stables in Triesdorf."
